How to Conduct Your First Trip to Maui

If your friends are jealous by the thought of you lying on sun baked beaches which have been termed as the best by travel magazines then wait till you actually get there. There is much more for your friends to feel jealous because of your trip to Maui. The Kahului Airport is the main airport of Maui and most flights arrive there. Some airlines fly directly to Maui but some take it as a stopover. There are resorts and hotels of all sizes and fitting every budget in the different parts of Maui like Kapalua, Kaanapali, Lahaina, Kihei, Makena, and Wailea. These are on the western coast while there is one resort on hana in east Maui. The route to Lahaina takes about 45 minutes drive from Kahului airport. Once you settle down in one of the luxurious hotels you will want to explore the attractions of Maui which are a sweeping canvas. The eastern side of this island is wetter and here is where the lush Lao valley lies along the scenic road to Hana.

 

The western side of the island is drier and has all the world famous beaches including the lovely Kaanapali beach. Here is where the nighttime sunset cliff diving ceremony is celebrated.

There is also historic Lahaina on the western side of Maui where the shopaholics will have a great time, and this is also a great place for good food and entertainment.

You can find the farms and gardens of upcountry Maui on the elevated and cool slopes of Haleakala. There is also the high summit of the Haleakala National Park.

Best places to visit in Maui

Maui is well-known for the beautiful beaches, dramatic scenery, surfing and anexcellent climate. This island is to the west direction of the bigger Hawaii island and is separated from the main island by the Alenuihaha Channel. There are many places to visit in Maui, let us look at them.

National Park of Haleakala

There is an10,023 feet high Haleakala inactive volcano on whose slopes the Haleakala national Park is located. This national park covers the area from the ocean to the summit and you can peek into the dormant crater of the volcano. From the top you can get an incredible view of the complete island which is why many visitors come here especially to witness the sunrise.

While most people are interested in the summit of the mountain, the drive to the top is also quite lovely. Some of the sights on route include the Oheo Ravine the Seven sacred pools, and the WAimoku waterfalls. There are some original Hawaiian birds species at hosmer grove which birders will enjoy.
